It is critical to be able to choose, with confidence,
the best fish from the pool.
Think Behaviorally. Typically managers do not look forward to the hiring process. It takes a lot of time and energy, and you are never really sure if you're looking at the right candidates until it may be too late. The MPR Selection Assistance Program (SAP) significantly raises your confidence level by providing an outside expert to screen the true candidates and an effective, reliable process to best match the right candidate to the position. It provides objectivity to either confirm or deny your gut instincts. The SAP applies MPR's behavioral approach to significantly increasing the odds of hiring the right individual for any given position in your organization. Benchmark and learn. The first step of a SAP is for a Behavioral Benchmark to be established for the position. The Benchmark helps define the position and determines the critical traits necessary to do the job well. An MPR Behavioral Consultant will review and adapt the Benchmark where appropriate. Qualify and screen. MPR conducts a comprehensive qualifying and screening program. The Qualifier Interview seeks to screen out those candidates who don't meet basic qualifications for the position i.e., experience or education. The Screener Interview typically consists of questions that will provide an initial reading of the top critical traits. This helps eliminate the candidates who don't exhibit the traits that were determined critical in the Behavioral Benchmark process. The result is a pool of top quality candidates to pursue. IDI and interview. The In-Depth Interview should next be performed on the top candidates and the hiring manager. The reason for the hiring manager's participation is threefold: 1) having gone through it, you better understand the process; 2) understanding your behavioral profile helps determine which candidate will work better with you; and 3) you gain beneficial information to manage and develop the potential hire. The MPR Behavioral Consultants furnish oral and written feedback for each In-Depth Interview performed. After feedback and consultation, your hiring team conducts in-person interviews. Select and Hire. The MPR Behavioral Consultants provide you with consultation and guidance through the process, and offer analysis and selection recommendations about each candidate. When it comes time for you to make the final decision, you will know with confidence that you have made a well reasoned, informed hiring decision. The MPR Selection Assistance Program incorporates many of the individual modules offered as part of the MPR system. The Behavioral Benchmark and In-Depth Interview are all integral parts of the SAP process. In addition, we strongly recommend that you consider holding or attending the MPR "Build With the Best" Seminar. This will give you a valuable, comprehensive overview of the MPR behavioral methodology and traits used throughout the SAP process.
